How love will change your life

Oh, I was so naive when I thought that nothing would change when I found my true love. In fact, I thought that everything would stay more or less the same. I didn’t want to change and so I thought my life would also stay the same.

Impossible. Everything changed. First of all I obviously had less time for my friends. Having less time will automatically show you which friendships count the most. People who love you will always understand if you can’t join for every party anymore and appreciate every moment they have with you, no matter what you do and when. Others won’t understand it and think you’re overruled by your partner who doesn’t let you any freedom. Hey, but what if YOU are the one who isn’t interested in attending all the parties anymore but prefers to cuddle on the couch watching a movie with the love of your life? Maybe you decided to be that boring. In any case, it’s your own choice and people have to respect that.

Of course you still have to take care of your friendships and other contacts but you should not allow anybody to tell you what you have to do, not your friends and not your partner. It’s your life!

As I’m a very independent person I was always convinced that I make the best decisions concerning my life myself. Who else would be able to make good decisions for me except for me? Sometimes my parents but as I feel like somehow grown-up I feel I should make all decisions myself with some advice from the people I trust.

And now there is this person who lives together with me, spends every day with me, shares all my joys and my sorrows, realizes when I’m happy and when I’m sad. First I didn’t believe that I would need his advice in making my decisions but in fact by now he knows me better than I know myself which can be scary at times. On the other hand, it can be very practical. And it’s a two-sided phenomenon so it’s okay.

What I want to say that in the best the case the person you love becomes your best friend too. And this is the reason why everything changes. Because he or she becomes your everything!
